Giving back to the community is an important thing for everyone to do. We are blessed to be in a position to help and are proud to do so. Here are just a few of our favorite causes.
Kids These Days, Inc. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation with the goal of making our community, nation and world a better place . . . One Project at a Time. We provide opportunities for students between the ages of 11-21 to volunteer as a way to foster personal connections, growth, development and interests while at the same time bettering our society through hands-on service projects and fundraising. All donations are tax deductible. We are based in Frederick, Maryland. Our service projects are local, national and international. Visit kidsthesedaysinc.org for more information.
Tara’s House is a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and an “all-breed” dog rescue. Our mission is to rescue and provide care and compassion for our pets while working to place them in permanent, loving homes. Tara’s House has a dual approach to rescuing companion animals: 1) we rescue from many local Maryland shelters, where we focus primarily on rescuing the “harder to place” dogs, such as those that are older, injured, or those that suffer from unwarranted breed discrimination; and 2) we rescue all breeds of dogs from high-kill shelters in rural areas with little to no funding for their own adoption programs.
At Tara’s House, our adoption program provides our pets with the love, vet care and, if needed, professional behavior modification that they need to thrive. Through our adoption committee process, we find our pets forever homes. We receive no government funding; we operate solely on private donations and volunteer efforts. Our team of volunteers is dedicated to helping those pets that we can, and to making a positive impact in the life of each pet we rescue. To find out how you can help visit tarashouse.org

Hayden’s Heroes, Inc. was created to raise awareness for a rare disease, Histiocytosis, by raising funds to be donated to research, helping families who suffer from Histiocytosis and providing education about the disease.
Histiocytic disorders are a related group of diseases caused by over-production of white blood cells known as histiocytes, which can lead to organ damage and tumor formation. This group is made up of a wide variety of conditions that can affect both children and adults. In fact, the disease is so rare it is often referred to as an “orphan disease.”
Hayden’s Heroes, Inc. was inspired by Hayden Boerum, a 6 year old from Frederick, MD. He was diagnosed at age three and has had several procedures, numerous blood transfusions and chemotherapy. In November 2012, Hayden underwent a double umbilical cord transplant and is currently recovering from this procedure.
We thank you for your support!

Platoon 22 is a traveling memorial started by the non-profit 22 Needs A Face. The boots in the Platoon 22 memorial symbolize the 22 lives lost per day, 682 lives lost per month, and over 8,000 veteran lives lost each year to suicide attributed to PTS. If you are a veteran please consider donating your boots to help us make an impact on the #platoon22 movement for awareness of the staggering rate of suicides amongst our vets attributed to PTS. You can drop your boots off at any SOLDIERFIT location or mail them to:
PO Box 3091
Frederick, MD 21701
This is a great opportunity for any active duty service member, veteran, or family member to become part of the #platoon22 movement to bring awareness for the 1 in 5 veterans returning from combat affected with PTS. Help us create the impact for awareness and donate your boots today!
